Easter eggs and the Ward campout = ton-o-pictures

We have an Easter tradition.   One that we've only started doing the last couple of years but I think will stick.
We go camping with our neighbors over spring/Easter break.    It's usually cold and it usually rains on us 1 or 2 of the 3 days we're there....but it's still a lot of fun.
We sold our trailer when we sold baverly the big white van and so our camping consists of finding a hotel room near the campground :)
There were 2 of us that stayed at the hotel and it was great.    Free continental breakfast in the morning.  Heated swimming pool and of course the warm baths and showers.    Now THAT'S what I call camping.
This year about 15 families went to Capital Reef.   Or, the mini Grand Canyon.   so beautiful.
The day we planned on hiking turned out gorgeous.
The next day....not so much.   As the snow came down the texting started and a bunch of us with little kids decided to drive an hour into Richfield, go to lunch and then to see Rio at the local theater.    See what I mean.  camping at it's finest :) ha ha
It's nice to be able to go with our neighbors.   We've gotten so much closer to so many of them.    We really are lucky to live in such a great neighborhood.

We left Sunday early morning right after breakfast.  3hrs later we were unloading, showering, getting dressed and heading to Grandma Blanchards house to eat tuna coneys and papa's potato salad with our cousins and aunts and uncles.
Grandma has an Easter egg hunt and this year did a fish pond.   With papa's help each kid threw the fishing line over a sheet into grandma's laundry room where grandma would attach a prize and send it back over.
The kids loved it and the prizes were perfect.
Such fun and a great way to finish off an already wonderful weekend.
And on to more pictures.

Nathan and his rock.   He collected them all the way up.   It took A LOT of convincing for him to put them on the ground so that we could get them on our way back down.   Crazy kid :)

I just love this picture with Spencer's hand on Cam's back.  I was glad they had something to look at so that I had time to get my camera to capture it.

Caves caves, everywhere.

Our group at the arch.

Ry-guy and Nate

Look at Syd's face.  ha ha ha.  she was so mad she didn't get to hold a lizard that one of the older boys caught so she was pouting.

Mini Grand Canyon.

Gorgeous right ?

A piece of art.

If you look close you can see all of the little divets in the rocks.   Just amazing.

Going through one of the small towns we saw this guy.   He was parked on the side of the road to ensure safety and a nice slow speed through the middle of town.

His name :)  Parker Bogus Doolittle

This purple (J called it a weed) flower was EVERYWHERE.   Fields were just full of it.   It reminded me of this line, "I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field and don't notice it."
From of course, The Color Purple.
I noticed it.
