School daze school daze

Today,
7:38 am awoke
7:47 am went back to sleep
7:58 am dragged my butt out of bed and hit the shower
8:38 am changed babies and started cooking breakfast
8:53 am fed all 5 kids
(this is where I sit down at the computer and zone while the kids eat but I don't need to go in to all of that)
9:47 am dress babies
9:51 am threaten older children to come and get dressed
9:53 am continue threats, add glaring eyes
9:55 am PLEAD with children to come and get ready..try and act excited by adding the bits about preschool and new toys
10:04 am drag one of the boys in to their room...tackle him to the floor and dress him. fight him to stay still while I put his shoes on. throw a leg around his waste while I pull a wet wipe out and wash breakfast off of his face and then hold one arm while spraying down his hair and brushing it down.
10:12 am repeat with 2nd boy, 2nd boy whines more.
10:15 am frantically wave arms around and run in circles while telling Syd that it's time to get your hair done....we're GOING to be late for gymnastics.
10:18 am load babies in the car. scream at boys to get in their seats so that I can buckle them. scream some more at them that they need to stay out of things in the console. stop touching buttons. come get in your seats. we are late. lets GO !
10:22 am close the van doors and head to the front of the van. notice flat tire.
10:22:04 am swear. a lot.
10:23 am call neighbor and ask if she can take Syd to gymnastics and then come to my senses realizing Syd won't die if there is no gymnastics. let kids out of the van...they immediately take off on bikes and wagons.
10:24 am it starts to rain.
10:24:06 am swear. a lot. laugh about it. get umbrellas out and play in the rain until it's time for preschool to start.

I don't know how I'm going to do this. Preschool starts at 11:30 am. Syd gets out of gymnastics at 11:30 am and 10 minutes from our house no less.
There is no early drop off at school. I've checked.
(sigh)
Just WAIT until the other 2 start lessons or school or therapy.
SHOOT !

Today was the boys first day of preschool. YEEEAAAAHHH !
I'm so excited for them to get out and play and sing songs and learn and meet new people.

Camped. at Lagoon. for the 2nd time. It was half off so we left the babies home A-gain. (sorry Nate and Ry-guy) and spent the day playing and riding rides and then wandered over to our trailer to crash for the night.

We are taking the babies for their first time camping over Labor day. wish us luck
Here are a couple of pictures from this weekend.

Some gun totin' bandits.

The finished playhouse downstairs.
There are still a few details that need to be done, but this gives you a good idea.

On August 19th 2009

it happened.
Ryan cut his very first tooth. with 3 more to quickly follow upper righty is finally showing through.
I thought I'd get a picture of it.
Ryan thought that was funny.

Challenge is ON woman....try and get a picture of my new tooth.

OK ! FINE ! Take a picture. Here it is. Look at my new tooth. ishabigen !
This must be exactly what they mean in the term, to fight tooth and nail ? huh ?

Now you did it. I'm not playing any more.
Rule number 1 mom....don't take things out of my mouth just to try and get a better view of what's growing in there.

The end.

Nathan has 8 teef's. Such a carnivore.
Sydney came in at nearly midnight Friday night. Unable to sleep. All she wanted to do was sing.
SERIOUSLY ! so I did what any responsible mother would do and grabbed the camera.
I only downloaded the end of this song, but I think you get how it starts.
Right arm.
Right arm, left arm.
Right arm, left arm, right foot....and so on and so on.
Sydney seems to really enjoy school. She loves to sing and really likes the media center where she gets to listen with headphones and take tests.
Her favorite part is when she got to visit the school library and pick out her very own book. "The Blockmess Monster"

I put shoes on Ryan for the first time. He was hilarious in them.

I'm calling the whole thing off !!!

All aboard. because they are fun.

Syd came in the house and told me this detailed and completely dramatic tale about how her fiance had done her wrong.
There were sentences that went : "and I told him, I'm not playing with you any more. I'm going home"
and I would respond with so much understanding and 110% of my attention, "I'm sorry honey. He's your friend, you'll make up."
and then she said it, (if she were to be-bop her head side to side with the attitude that came from the next sentence...it would have fallen right off of her shoulders) "I am NOT going to marry Nate. He is TOO bossy."
(ahem, queen of bossy pants)
She not only called it off but immediately went to her room, got her backpack and started packing. She invited Spencer on her journey, and with all of the comprehension he could grasp, he too went along for the ride.
Luckily they changed their minds juuuuust about the time we packed up Bav's to go to grandma's.
As they headed to the van Syd mustered, "I didn't pack any food any ways...just a bunch of toys"

(I thought you ran away WITH the boy...not because and FROM the boy. Oh to have this kind of heartache at such a young age :)

Nature

Look at what's been going on in our tree. They are called bald faced wasps.
I don't want to disturb them. It's AMAZINGLY cool. It's high enough that my kids can't bother it and they don't seem to bother us, so for now.....build away tiny fliers.

Isn't it AWESOME. Look at how they built that thing. I would like to cut it open and see the inner workings. nah. I'll just go watch "Bee's". that's a realistic portrayal of what goes on in bee hives....right ?

Some of my favorite things.

Sydney has a mean arm on her. She seriously can throw a killer spiral. I don't know if the quality of this video will show you....so you'll have to take my word for it.
Jan got her athlete. throws a ball. even if it is in a dress.
Oh and I don't think spinning around was what J meant when she said, put a spin on it :) ha ha

Soon to be the clubhouse under the stairs in the playroom.

and the CUTEST little boy who likes to help. he gets out his tools and goes to work.

and then there are the hugs....

Ryan wraps his arms tight around your neck and with all of his might squeezes for the longest best hugs. Sometimes he'll come up and grab my leg and just hug tight. He's such a sweetheart.

Nathan and Ryan stats

or just skip to pictures....

Nathan
Height: 31.5 inches 95%
Weight: 23.2 lbs 55%
Head: 18.9 in 85%
BMI 16.96

Ryan
Height: 31.5 inches 95%
Weight: 20.2 lbs 15%
Head: 18.9 in 85%
BMI 14.35

Both boys climb up and down stairs and have for a month. Grandma's are another story.
They also climb on couches and tables and chairs and beds and toys and anything that they can kick a leg over. mmhhhh nice.

They are both walking. Ryan started walking 2 days before he turned 1. Ryan will walk and crawl. ok so he will crawl and walk. Nathan stomps. when he's throwing a tantrum. which he does when he wants something. Right now it's actually cute and we laugh.

Both boys will say hi-(haaa),dog-(da or ga), mama-(mom-mom-mom), roar like a lion, bark like a dog- (wa-wa-wa, it's more of the mouth action and head bob while doing it :) They both yell at the dog when she barks I believe they are yelling stop, it comes out (daw) they say it with a very serious tone like they are yelling at her. Nathan will say ow when he falls on his toosh.

Both boys point and discuss.

They are on whole milk in sippy cups. However. yes, there is a however. We went to Costco after their appointment yesterday to grab a couple of cans of formula to mix with the milk to kind of wean them off of it. I normally do it the week before but they had diarrhea that kept them on 100% formula for that week in a half.
They do drink both out of sippy cups though. No more bottles and so far have been great about it.

Nathan has 7 almost 8 teeth. Ryan. 0. although he does have 4 purpley/white'ish bumps...so soon.

They are 1. sweet and crazy and sometimes high maintenance. I love you baby boys.

Ryan did not like this cake.

The older boys were certain that the toys were theirs.

esPECIALLY when the babies said that they were theirs.

The First day of Kindergarten

Mommy J came home to walk her to her first day of school.

There were no tears. there had been no time for tears. Today was Syd's first day back to gymnastics after her summer break also. We didn't stop until just now and now that I think about it...I feel like I might just want to cry. My baby goes to Kindergarten. My tiny little baby girl is a real live school girl.
I feel like I just continue to add feathers to her wings. One day Syd...you are gonna soar !
