Did you know 8 is the new pre teen ?

Apparently so.
It's been several weeks coming....but suddenly clothing has become some what of an issue.
I also found a pink rug by my back door with the direction to, "I don't want this anymore....it's a baby rug....throw it away"
After which I noticed that my little girls room that was once more or less picked up and cared for, became ignored and I was shutting the door to hide the mess.
I spoke with a couple of mothers of 8'ish year old girls and realized that yes, it was an age thing.

Sydney is impossible to buy for normally.   She's not a collector of anything girl.   She doesn't really "play" with stuff.  so this was the perfect birthday gift.  A new bigger girl room.
I sprang into action and started planning and randomly buying different items here and there, storing them in our bedroom closet...which became nearly impossible to navigate in and both Jan and I were THRILLED to finally get it out.

I don't know if I mentioned it here.   A while ago we had some leaking in our roof and a corner of Syd's ceiling was damaged.

When Jan repaired it Syd asked if we could repaint her room.      She was done with the purple.

Friday when Syd went to school.....J stayed home from work and we both went to work getting it put together.    I asked J to build a bench in a corner of her room.    I wanted a lid that we could lock and a couple of storage areas to put baskets.

I honestly have no idea how she does it.   I drew a picture of what I wanted on a paper.....she bought wood and went to work.   She doesn't write anything down.   She measures the wall and makes the cuts.
It turned out EXACTLY how I wanted it.

 Me and my mom, otherwise known as `just my mom`, will be sewing the sheets that went with her bedding but don't fit her xl twin size bed, into a bench pad for it.   In the meantime we just set it on.  When it's all finished I'll take a better picture.

This is a picture of Syd zip lining in Zion's.  
I added the saying and had it printed on Canvas at Costco.
 LOVE it.  LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out.
It says...."May your dreams defy the laws of gravity" 

After school Syd's friends picked her up to give us extra time to finish.     When they brought her home...we were all hiding in her room ready to yell surprise !
