Over the hills we go......

I took Spencer on his first sledding excursion. We went with some of our best friends Imani and Nia.
He had a blast until he flipped going at least 45 MPH and rolled down the last part of the small mountain, resembling a hill, on his face. A fat bloody lip left him feeling a tad bit cautious...so cautious in fact that another trip down the hill was out of the question. So instead......
What's more fun than sledding. SPLASHING !!!!

(note, Cameron is cautious of the snow altogether. He stayed home in a nice warm bath ALL BY HIMSELF and played with all of his new Christmas bath toys...sorry no pictures.)

What do you get with 5 sick kids.
a camera.
and a Christmas picture wish ?

You get nothin'. that's the answer. all that is left is a feelings of resentment and the need to run far far away.

So goes getting an updated picture of the babies to send out in Christmas cards. So what if they are only a few weeks old in the picture we send. right ?

Here they are all glorious and round. Can I get some butter with that roll :)

Everyone is sick. really sick. you wouldn't know it looking at the pictures though.

Here's my rollin' rollin' Raspberry blowin' hunk of playin fun. (Ryan)

The coughiest of the group and you wouldn't know it by the smile on his face. (Nathan)

Look mom, no hands.

Laugh factory.

And then on to the game called mom hides and then scares the living crap out of the boys.
Here is an unsuspecting Spencer asking sweetly "Where's mama ?" (look even the dog looks scared)

"RAAAAH !!!"

(spencer in a diaper because of a major blow out moments before)

you are always able to hide in the same spot because 2 year olds apparently have the memory of fish :)
and once again....."RAAAH !!!"

(and then insane laughter ensues, because although completely immature, it's fun scaring them)

Sydney : the smartest 4 year old ALIVE. I have a video of her tying her shoes. I've tried to upload it 2 times and my computer freezes and dies. I'm done trying so I'll just tell you that she can do it.
A couple of weeks ago she came in to my room and said, "watch mom, I can tie my shoes " and then just like that, she tied her shoe.
I asked her who taught her, to which she replied, "I just followed the rules, I just watched you and learned it."
Kind of like when she "learned" how to read.

Today she colored a picture for Santa who she loves and isn't afraid of AT ALL. And by afraid I mean, she clearly isn't afraid that the big man in the red suit is going to miss her house because she's been terrorizing her sick brothers. nope. threats of Santa aren't cutting it this year. Maybe I started to early. Maybe I should wait until at least Halloween before threatening the naughty and nice list.

ANY WAYS. She brings me her picture all colored and signed (name on the back) and I see that she has written SANTA on the top.
I asked her, "honey, who told you how to spell Santa ?" (as I wasn't involved in her coloring or writing at all)
"I just sounded it out and wrote it myself." She says.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME ! She's a GENIUS I tell you. Freaking EINSTEIN.

(I also asked her how she knew the order of the colors on the rainbow...she said that she remembered it from a game she played on the computer)

ok, I may be a little biased here. but seriously. she's super smart.
I hope she continues to love to learn. I hope she's a good student and doesn't let her mouth get her in trouble like her mother.
She's such a great kid. When she's not picking with her brothers.
Phrase of the day. (on constant REPEAT) "Syd, Mind your business"

also, "leave him alone"
also, "one, TWO..."
also, "WHY IS IT THAT THEY WERE FINE PLAYING UNTIL YOU WENT DOWN THERE"
also, "S-Y-D-N-E-Y"

I love that kid. :)

Because.....

because I'm cool, dude !

because once you've gone head over heels, it's hard to stand on your feet again.

because mom took pictures of everyone, and I didn't want mine taken.

because I just woke up and IMMEDIATELY smiled.

because I slept 10 hrs last night and my mom thinks I'm the cutest, nicest, bestest one.

because Sydney wanted a friend to sleep with. she got 2.

side note : both babies roll front to back and back to front
