A couple of weeks ago she came in to my room and said, "watch mom, I can tie my shoes " and then just like that, she tied her shoe.
I asked her who taught her, to which she replied, "I just followed the rules, I just watched you and learned it."
Kind of like when she "learned" how to read.
Today she colored a picture for Santa who she loves and isn't afraid of AT ALL. And by afraid I mean, she clearly isn't afraid that the big man in the red suit is going to miss her house because she's been terrorizing her sick brothers. nope. threats of Santa aren't cutting it this year. Maybe I started to early. Maybe I should wait until at least Halloween before threatening the naughty and nice list.
ANY WAYS. She brings me her picture all colored and signed (name on the back) and I see that she has written SANTA on the top.
I asked her, "honey, who told you how to spell Santa ?" (as I wasn't involved in her coloring or writing at all)
"I just sounded it out and wrote it myself." She says.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME ! She's a GENIUS I tell you. Freaking EINSTEIN.

(I also asked her how she knew the order of the colors on the rainbow...she said that she remembered it from a game she played on the computer)
ok, I may be a little biased here. but seriously. she's super smart.
I hope she continues to love to learn. I hope she's a good student and doesn't let her mouth get her in trouble like her mother.
She's such a great kid. When she's not picking with her brothers.
Phrase of the day. (on constant REPEAT) "Syd, Mind your business"
also, "leave him alone"
also, "one, TWO..."
also, "WHY IS IT THAT THEY WERE FINE PLAYING UNTIL YOU WENT DOWN THERE"
also, "S-Y-D-N-E-Y"
I love that kid. :)
