Ryan

I woke up listening to Ryan's sleeping breaths next to me this morning.   I laid and thought about what I needed to do today and started making lists in my head when Ryan woke up.   He stretched and started singing, "take her take her to the floor, show her show her how you roll, drop it drop it drop it low"
A few minutes later he rolled over and cuddled with me and I was still smiling.

Ryan was laying giving loves to Lilly.   I overheard him saying to her, "I love you so so much Lilly.   Don't die Lilly, ok ?  Don't die, ok puppy ?"
:(

Ryan will randomly correct you when you say his name...."my name isn't Ryan it's Jackson !"
He will also tell you that Nathan's name is Gaybop. (?)

Ryan has been coddled and babied by his brothers and sister so much that acting like a baby has become 2nd nature to him.    We have reminded him that he's not a baby now and he needs to talk like a big boy.    He will lower his voice and say in his new big boy/superhero deep voice, "ok mom"

When Ryan and Nathan's wrestling has gone too far and someone gets hurt....I will hear this conversation between them.
Ryan - Nafan are we brudders (brothers) ?
Nathan - No, because you kicked me so hard.
Ryan - Nafan I will listen to you.
Nathan - No Ryan because you always don't listen to me
Ryan - but Nafan I will listen to you every time and I won't hurt you
Nathan - (silence)
Ryan - So Nafan can we be brudders again ?
Nathan - yes
and they giggle and tackle each other and the wrestling match begins again.

My heart Sings

Sydney said last week as she was headed out back with the boys to play. "I've missed you all day." Spencer asks, "me ?" Sydney responds, "Yes, ever since I heard the kindergarten program was tomorrow I've been thinking about you." Sydney went to her grandma's house for a sleepover. The boys were bored and I asked them if we should go to the park. Spencer asks, "Will Syd be there ?" I answered him, "no, she's at grandma's remember?" Spencer says in a defeated voice, "I don't want to go then. It's only fun when Syd's there." This week Sydney has school and the boys do not. (kindergarten testing) I asked the boys to walk her to school so she didn't have to go alone and got some moans and grumbles (it's raining and cold today) Sydney didn't hear any of it thankfully :) and came in the kitchen putting her water bottle in her back pack she says, "I'm going to be so sad today" I asked. "why?" she replied, "because I'm going to miss the boys so much today. I won't see them at all until after school." (I ended up driving her the block to school) They still fight. They still drive each other to tears some days. but sometimes. sometimes they show nothing but love for each other and that makes my heart sing.
And here are my boys singing at their kindergarten program.

A Mothers Day Poem

To say that there’s never been another
As loving and caring as the person you call mother
Our eyes glide over, all that she does, unseen.
The worrying, praying, cooking and keeping the house clean
Our clothes were folded and placed in our drawers,
She mysteriously always knew which socks were mine and which ones were yours.
Dinner was made without hesitation.
She made sure to include meat, dairy and vegetation.
Mom would eat last and what was left in a hurry,
It was usually cold, but she didn't seem worried.
Our tears were always wiped, our cheeks soft with kisses.
That comfort and tenderness now everyone misses.
We were told, I love you, more times than I can remember.
Starting from January clear through to December.

As time went on we all moved away.
We were now raised and had no reason to stay.
Her day to day job with us was now through.
Excect for the occasional dinner we'd show up for out of the blue.
We moved out and on and had kids of our own.
It still feels so strange to us, even though we're grown.
Examples she taught me and my brothers.
Are all that which helps me to now be a mother.
My kids will one day thank me for all that I do
And I will say, I know…..I had a mother too.

by none other than me.
Happy Mothers Day !

Lilly

I did it.   It's all on me.
Well, J did forward me the link to the pictures as an enticer.  (admitting that she knew I'd want her)   but it was I who called the lady and set up a meeting 1.5 hrs later (the lady lives coincidentally 6 minutes from me)....and I didn't even tell J.   I called her and told her that I bought one and then admitted not buying her but explained that I was in fact standing in a walmart parking lot and that I HAD to have her. because J....she's so freaking cute you could just die.  I love her.

I didn't want another dog for a year.   Just one summer of no poop.   and then figured at that point we'd see how we even felt about it.
I didn't want to have to worry about a dog when traveling.
(sigh)

And then I saw her face.
and oh my goodness this face.
and yes.....she's this cute

and she's this cute when she sleeps
She's a spaniel mix.   Her mom is a cocker spaniel and her dad is a cavalier king charles spaniel.  and that made her the cutest little spaniel I ever saw in my LIFE !
She's all of 8 weeks old and the size of a water bottle.  She's just teeny.
As I left J's work after showing off our new puppy, I turned on Lady and the Tramp so the kids could see what Lilly will look like when she's bigger.   As I entered the freeway my stomach turned over a little and with the idea of taking on a new puppy a bit of buyers remorse set in.     I have to keep looking at that face to help me get through a full on anxiety attack because really people......what was I thinking ?  and also OH my hell.

Entirely Her !

To balance out all those cute pictures of her sweet smiling face....here are the pictures in between.   They capture her personality to a T and I love them all.
