We're in the car on our way to gymnastics. Sydney says, "let's play a new game. These are the rules. I will think of a word and give you a clue. Then, you have to guess the word. ok. The clue is, it's in your heart."
Me : "blood"
Syd : "no"
Me : "arteries"
Syd : "no"
Me : "valves"
Syd : "no mom. it's IN your heart"
Me : "muscle ?"
Syd : "NO !"
Me : "I give up. What is it ?"
Syd : "Love mom. Love is in your heart."
Simple and pure.
Syd is still having night terrors, just about every night. Last night was no different.
They had been going on and off for maybe an hour.
Cam appears at my bedside, 1/2 asleep and with the sweetest little voice says, "mama, Sydney is calling you, she needs you"
Me : "I know buddy. Thanks, I'll go see what she needs"
Cam : "ok" and off he goes back to bed.
I think had he been more awake he would have said, "MOM ! Sydney has only been screaming for you for the last HOUR. Do you think you can go in there and take care of her already ? I'm not transitioning in to a nice REM sleep with all of this screaming going on. GEEZE !"
Or something like that.
I thought it was sweet that he was concerned about his sister enough to get up. come in my room. and tell me. My little protector.

Aunt Susan's chicken house !
Sydney and Jan flew to Aunt Susan's house in Seattle for the weekend.
Aunt Susan has some property and on that property she has. chickens. and eggs.
Sydney named them and asked if it was time to feed them or collect eggs all.day.long.

And then Syd prayed to the rain God's to leave her bonfire alone....just until the smores were done.
Ok, so it wasn't so much a prayer, as a dance.
That oughta do it.
And then there was Cousin Jen. Who Syd loves with all of her heart !
Syd also did her own hair. Who says you can have too much of a good thing. Nice combination of headbands, ponytails and flowers kiddo.
Sydney had so much fun and talked non stop about it all when she got home.
She did have to acclimate to our house, more so her brothers and by the next day I was ready to send her back on the plane to Seattle. But we all settled back in to our routine.
Syd says that she's going back when Susan get's baby chicks for her to hold.
Next time....I'm going too :)

Spring Party at grandma A's
I don't know why, but I loved this picture of Cameron sorting his eggs in the garden. I only wished I would have had his face in it.
If you wait. and hide. and are far enough away. you can sometimes capture a rare and amazing picture of the man smiling.
Not a lot of pictures of Ry-guy...because he was a tired grandma's boy and wanted to be held the whole time.
Looks promising.
And then not so much.
So much fun at Great Grandma Argyle's house.

Progressive progression
For our Aunt Liz who was so kind and thoughtful to get us this great and creative gift.
Remember this birthday picture -
Remember this birthday picture -
Sydney was all too excited to get it started.
Turns out, Sydney has some mad painting skills. She must get that from her grandma. :)
She painted this entire project by herself. I didn't help her once. I opened the paint and said...go for it.
I wished she wouldn't have painted the inside. I hated covering it with dirt it was so pretty.
Meticulously putting everything in it's place.
First signs of life.
And now today.
It's been so fun waking up each morning to new growth. Sydney has really enjoyed the whole experience. We kept quite a few of the seeds out so that she will be able to add them and keep it going for a long time.
Thank you Aunt Liz, Uncle Brian, Matthew and Emma.
